Artist Statement
One of the primary ways I experience the world is through the visual language of art.
The transfer of concepts, thoughts and feelings into colour, shape and form allow me to come into the present moment, working in flow. This brings an authenticity of experience to an intuitive practice.
When you look deeper, my work contains layers of symbolism in the choices I make, around shape, space, colour and mark making. It also reflects the structural forms that are found in the natural world, and amongst the wisdom of our ancestors.
Each piece is eventually transformed through natural light, revealing hidden colours and forms; inviting you to create moments of pause and reflection. This can create an experience of restoration and connection to the self; a meditation with the natural world found at the heart of a beautiful garden.
