Seedheads

Drawings and photos of seed heads, out on walks along the lane way or across the common were the inspiration to create these

First Processes

When designs have been formed and specialty glass chosen, is the time to cut the background shape and and begin to lay down the coloured glass as seen in the minds eye.

Middle Processes

The continuation of the process is somewhat intuitive from this point on. Knowing what works and doesn’t, using new colour combinations and growing the design ready for kiln firing. using small pieces of cut and powdered glass.

Final Processes

All six seedheads were developed at the same time, which is my preferred way of working when making more than one piece.

Stand designs are worked on, drawn up and then taken to the blacksmith to turn the glass into a vibrant installation for a border, or garden area that catches the light, bringing the colours to life.
